Membership

The categories for membership shall be Active, Social, Contributing, Non-firefighting, and Life. Applications for membership will be obtained from the membership committee. Applications for membership will be made on the membership application, signed by the applicant, with medical questionnaire, criminal background check, and child abuse clearances, as required by law, completed. The membership committee will review such applications.

The membership committee will interview the applicant. Applications must be reviewed within sixty (60) days and balloted upon at the next meeting. The applicant shall be present when proposed and absent at the meeting when voted upon. For acceptance, each applicant must receive a majority approval by written ballot.

FAQ

  • How can I donate water/Gatorade?

    You can drop donations off at the borough office during their regular business hours or on a Thursday evening during a training session.

  • How much training do you need to be a firefighter?

    Firefighter I is approximately 188 hours over several months but we provide in-house training opportunities as well.

  • Why do you still use a fire whistle?

    While the fire whistle originally helped notify volunteers that it was time to report to the station, it is still used today to alert the public that emergency vehicles will be entering the roadways.
